3. | How does the e-Recruitment site work for job seekers? | Registered job seekers can apply for jobs. You will also have an online CV profile that can used to apply for other jobs on the Portal |
4. | Am I able to upload my documents? | Yes, you are now able to upload your documents provided that they meet the requirements of being 500mbs or less and are in a pdf or word format. Pdf is preferred as your document cannot be edited. The CV is compulsory, other documents are optional. |
5. | Must I still fill in my qualifications and work experience if I am attaching my CV? | YES, this is compulsory |
6. | What happens if my email address has changed? | Please send an email to erecruitment@durban.gov.za with your old and new email addresses, as well as your name, ID number and an explanation of your query. Your account will be transferred to your new email address. |
7. | If I withdraw my application and then want to re-apply for that job, am I able to do so? | You will not be able to re-apply by yourself. You will have to send an email to erecruitment@durban.gov.za detailing your name, ID number and the job that you wish to be reinstated on. Please include the reference number or job number as there may be more than one job with the same job title. Note that this takes time to be actioned hence avoid doing this on the closing date. |

The other option is to type the keywords you want to search by into the text box under Job Keyword Search. Click on "Search" after you have typed in your keyword/s |

15. | The post I applied for is closed but my application status says, ‘in progress.’ What does this mean? | The HC Department is in the process of reviewing applications. |
16. | I've submitted my resume. Now what? | Applicants who have not been contacted within three months from the closing date should consider themselves unsuccessful. |
