30 Municipal and government officials were recognised for their contributions to war rooms in communities.  

WARD 46 Councillor Sihle Mazibuko recognised the contributions of Municipal and government institutions to ensure the success of Operation Sukuma Sakhe. Councillor Mazibuko honoured over 30 officials with certificates of recognition for their role in ensuring war rooms are successful in communities. Councillor Mazibuko said the event was a shining example of ensuring service delivery in Ward 46 and promoting the Batho Pele Principles. “We acknowledge the concerns raised by residents and will work to ensure they are addressed. A major challenge was the discontinued health services, which stopped during the Covid-19 pandemic.

We are pleased that representatives from the Department of Health are present and have committed to working with us to reinstate health services in the community.” He called for continued support from departments to ensure war rooms continue to make a difference in communities. He said holding officials accountable to attend meetings was one way to achieve this.
